unique grilling recipes

A round-up of unique grilling recipes, from appetizers to desserts.

With the official arrival of summer, my family will be enjoying lots of meals from the grill.  While we LOVE a good burger, I’ve been wanting to branch out and try some unique grilling recipes other than burgers.

To that end, I’ve scoured the internet and rounded up a list of yummy grilling recipes for appetizers, entrees and desserts that are grilled, but that don’t have the word ‘burger’ in them.

If you’d like to remember any one of these recipes for your future reference, make sure you click on the link for the recipe and then pin it from the original post.

Unique Grilling Recipes

Appetizers:

Kevin’s recipe for grilled watermelon and shrimp skewers had me at the get-go.  I love grilled pineapple and peaches, but haven’t tried grilling watermelon, but this unique grilling recipe will change all that.

Holly’s recipe for bacon wrapped jalapenos on the grill is one that has my son’s name all over it.

My friend Chellie had the brilliant idea of grilling brie! Are you kidding me…what’s not to love?

If you love bruschetta like we do, grilling the tomatoes for this grilled tomato bruschetta will surely give this treat some extra depth.

Salad and Vegetables:

Grilling marinated veggies may be just what it takes to get my boys to eat more vegetables.

Grilled Shrimp, Romaine and Corn are just a few of the oh so delish ingredients in this grilled salad.

Grilling cabbage steaks is such an easy way to prepare this ‘salad’.

Main Dishes:

Grilling Shrimp is always a win, and pairing it with a mango pineapple salsa just makes it even better!

Erin’s spin on grilled shrimp uses a lovely basil pesto.

Taylor’s recipe for a ‘bowl’ featuring grilled cauliflower, corn, chicken and pineapple has a fun, south of the border flair to it.

If it has ‘Thai’ and ‘curry’ in the recipe title, it has my name all over it! This recipe for Thai Curry Grilled Chicken is no exception.

Marwin’s Grilled Scallops with Lemon Salsa Verde is a nice change from grilled shrimp…just be mindful not to overcook them.

I do love a pizza, and this grilled barbecue chicken pizza with the unexpected oomph from tart cherries sounds lovely.

Desserts:

Surely you didn’t think I’d have a compedium of unique grilling recipes and not include desserts!

Grilled Peach Pies! Caramelizing the peaches on the grill first and then tucking them into pie crust which is then grilled is a nice twist on traditional handpies.

What about grilled peaches in a pound cake parfait?

I have had grilled pineapple more…love the molasses hint that grilling imparts.  But it’s clear from this recipe that I need to grill some bananas as well.

So my friends, fire up your grill this weekend.  Wouldn’t it be fun to cook an entire meal on the grill? I am going to give several of these recipes a try and do just that.

What a great list, Lynn! I’ve been working on a very similar one myself – get us out of the summer burger rut. Pinning for sure!
