Good Monday Morning my friends.

I am writing this from a hotel in Chapel Hill as I make my way back home after an incredible weekend in Happy Valley aka State College, PA. The weather was absolutely perfect and the leaf colors were gorgeous. I reunited with friends, some of whom I haven’t seen in 30 years. My daughter joined me on this pilgrimage and it warmed my heart to introduce her to my long lost friends and to our college traditions. We ate grilled sticky buns, tailgated and cheered on our team in a white out under the lights until we became hoarse. It was the perfect weekend.

As an aside…we think we all change over the years, but I don’t think we do.  The gals I hadn’t seen in 30 years were exactly the same as I remember them.

I took these Gooey Pumpkin Bars to the tailgate and they were a huge hit!

It’s pumpkin carving time...here are some tips to keep it last longer.

What would Hermione do?  I love this!

I used this recipe for our cornbread last week…I’ll never do it any other way from now on.

Now this is a pallet wood project that has my name all over it!  Of course, I gave away all the pallets we had.

Ooooh, this booklist has me all excited!

Plants that grow well indoors during the winter? More opportunities to hasten the demise of hone my greenthumb on more poor lucky growers!

Well my friends.  It’s been lovely connecting with you this morning…but I guess I need to get myself moving and hit the road back home to my waiting boys and 4 legged babies.

Hugs

Oh Mary, thanks so much. It was such a delightful weekend…especially with my daughter along. I guess that fact that I’m still hoarse is an indicator of how much fun I had!

Thanks for taking the time to write in my friend.

      Wishing you a wonderful week.

      Hugs, Lynn

Lynn I’m so glad that you got to spend some time with your college friends. I love your links for this week and that corn bread looks great. I used to carve my pumpkins years ago but now I just draw on them. In fact I had one that lasted for a year. It must have been all the good vibes coming his way.

Oh Mary, we had a ball! Counting down the days until next year!

And was it your scaredy man pumpkin? I do remember him.

Thanks for writing in my friend.

      Hugs, Lynn

My book club just chose Manhattan Beach as our next read. It’s on the booklist that you linked to this blog post.
