Blogs We Love Award

Hello friends, just a quick pop in today to thank my dear friend Katrin from KreativK for nominating me for the Blogs We Love Award.

This year-long journey of blogging has surely been and eye- and mind-opening process. But more than that, I’m overjoyed and overwhelmed by the wonderful friends I’ve made in the process, both my readers as well as fellow bloggers. The blogging community is, for the most part, a very gracious, encouraging and motivating community. This ‘Blogs We Love Award’ is a classic example. It’s an ‘award’ or acknowledgement given by bloggers to bloggers. How great is that!?

This award is the brain child of Roma at Craft Odyssey who wanted a way to thank her fellow bloggers who take the time to comment and encourage her on her blog journey. As a recipient of the award, you are asked to do three simple things, which further affirm the graciousness of the blog community.

You are first asked to thank the blogger who nominated you. That’s an easy one as my friend Katrin was one of the very first ‘blogging’ friends I made. Katrin currently lives in Spain, though she has traveled the world. Her charming crafts reflect the Scandinavian style of which she is so fond. Though I delight in seeing what creations Katrin has come up with next, it’s our shared devotion to The Walking Dead that cemented our friendship. I can always count on Katrin’s supportive comments on every post I make and do look forward to our travels crossing paths someday so that we may share that crafting day! Thanks Katrin!

As a further ‘thank-you’ for the recognition of this award, the only request is that you share the love by nominating up to 3 fellow bloggers who encourage you and make your day a little brighter with their comments. Sounds easy, right? The truth is that finding just 3 bloggers to nominate is a tough task, because there are many more than three. But since I have to practice a wee bit of discipline here and follow the rules, here goes:

Gina at the Multitasking Missus regularly brightens my day with her kind comments on my posts. But more than that, on her blog Gina has opened her heart and shared the struggles she has so beautifully and gracefully overcome in her life. The struggles of my life haven’t come close to those that Gina has faced and her growth in the face of her adversities affirms the strength of the human spirit, especially the strength and spirit of this beautiful young woman.

I was lucky enough to meet Gina through Nikki, at The View From In Here. Nikki brought together a diverse and supportive group of bloggers who encourage each other on a daily basis. While I would love to nominate the whole WAYWOW tribe, I am limited to in the number of nominations. So, I figured it was fitting to honor the gal who brought us all together. In addition to herding this diverse group of women from all time zones (a feat deserving of some great acknowledgement), Nikki is ‘that blogger’ whose comments are the reasons we sit down and write our posts. Nikki has also shared her struggles and her grit and determination in the face of these struggles is inspiring.

Writing this post has given me pause to really think about how blessed I have been to ‘meet’ so many lovely ladies throughout the world this past year. While I couldn’t name each and every blogger who has made an impact on me this past year, today my heart thanks you. And to all my readers who have journeyed with me this past year, my heart also thanks you. Opening up the email I send you and taking the time to write your comments are appreciated more than you could ever know.

A big hearty ‘Thank-You’ to all of you!

Many Hugs,

Lynn2

Lynn, you are so sweet! I received your email and immediately had to read this post. Your words are so kind and I’m so glad that we met through the blogosphere. The encouragement I’ve received from you and the other lovely ladies in our tribe is heartwarming. It has helped me to deal with the events in my life more than you will ever know.
You’re right about the number 3 being so limiting. I’ll have to think about who to nominate. It’s a tough one to choose! I have to say that I am so honored you picked me for one of the blogs you love. You’re an amazing blogger and an even more amazing person as I have seen through your kind comments and getting to know you little by little over the past few months. <3

Thanks Carol…it was hard to nail it down to 2-3. Like I said, I would’ve thrown all of our tribe in, but wouldn’t have been practical. I so appreciate you and the rest of our great group.
      Wishing you a wonderful Tuesday,

      Lynn

Lynn congratulations on your award. You are always there with your kind and gracious comments helping and encouraging us along. It is very much deserved. And you could not have picked more deserving ladies. Both Gina and Nikki are a tower of strength and inspiration to all of us. We are all so lucky to have found so many wonderful blogging friends who go above and beyond, and help us to bring out the best in all of us. As for Katrin, well she is a gem. Did you know she was the first person to nominate me for an award, and it was through her that I found out that there was actually a community out there? Glad to hear you two have bonded over the zombies… 😉
