Monday Musings March 13

Happy Monday my friends!

I’m sitting here reflecting on a fun-filled weekend. Here’s what happened in my world…our daughter came home for her spring break, we adopted the SWEETEST little kitten, our son attended his high school’s military ball with his lovely girlfriend and we were greeted with beautiful snow flurries when we awoke Sunday morning! I mean, we packed alot of fun in a couple of days!

Meet Quinn! And while she and Flora seem all buddies in this photo, neither is quite sure of the other yet.

It was two weeks ago today when I said this; “We are luxuriating in an early Spring…I just hope Mother Nature isn’t planning a major ‘bait and switch’ on us.”  Well, she did. ☹  Not only did we have snow…in coastal, SOUTHeastern North Carolina yesterday,  but it’s supposed to get even colder this week…well below freezing a couple of nights this week. I will be busy covering all my newly sprouted plants this week and waiting for the return of spring.

These Spring Container garden ideas will help me brainstorm while I’m bundled up inside this week.

I am anxious to try these sesame peanut bars; sesame seeds are high on my favorite foods list.

And I must be channeling sesame seeds, because these Sesame Crusted Shrimp and Mango Quinoa Bowls will get made this week.

For my knitting friends, are you familiar with this site ? I just recently found it and have bookmarked it as I know I will be visiting it frequently.

How is your reading list? I am always excited to put some books in my library queue.

My friend Yuni has a way with arranging flowers. This skill has evaded me for too long and I’m glad for this helpful primer.

There you have it my friends…some great findings from the world wide web.

Now I am off to chase Quinn around the house. While so very sweet, she is also full on kitten…

Make it a great week!

Hugs,

    Good morning Lynn.

Yuni is so talented. Isn’t she?

It is spring here in Texas for sure but we are still doing a little bit of back and forth. When you’ve had a few days of 75-80 and it’s suddenly 45, well…it’s a bummer. 🙂

I’m dreaming of gardens too. Can’t wait to get my hands in the dirt!

    Have a great week.

Hey Stacey, I’m with you…I would love Mother nature to just make up her mind. I just got done covering so many tender plants as we are forecasted to have sub-freezing weather for the next 3 nights! Ugh.

Have a great day my friend.

      Hugs, Lynn

    Hi Lynn,

Welcome to the family Quinn! Something fun and magical about a new kitten. So fun! Hopefully poor Flora will adjust quickly. 🙂

Yuni is so talented. I honestly love everything she does! Thank you for the helpful primer. I took a floral arranging class many many years ago and still struggle to make my arrangements look just right. For me, it is a skill that has to be worked on and developed. Some people just seem to have the magic touch!

Oh, Quinn is so darned sweet and Flora’s feelings are really hurt. She just doesn’t quite appreciate Quinn as much as we do! I think she’ll need some counseling to get through this.

And I love Yuni’s arrangements…I’m studying that one post in my efforts to get better at arranging flowers.

      Have a fantastic day…

      Hugs, Lynn
