Monday Musing January 9, 2017

Happy Monday my friends! Hope you enjoyed a lovely weekend. The four of us went to see Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and totally enjoyed it. Then we hunkered down for the ‘winter storm’, which was really much ado about nothing where I live and ended the weekend by sending my oldest back to school. ☹ It’s a tough one, I miss her terribly but know she is where she is supposed to be, pursuing her dreams.

With both my kiddos back in school, I finally feel like it’s time to end my Christmas vacation as well. I’ve been easing in to it, but this week…it’s full on.No more excuses.

That being said, I have been collecting some interesting tidbits from the Googler that I want to share with you today.

But before I do that, I want to remind to enter to win the $150 Gift Card from The Container Store. You can find the entry form towards the bottom of this post.1-start-the-year-off-right-graphic

Have you heard the term ‘hygge’ (‘hooga’)? Well, it’s a thing now and I’d like to believe that I’ve been an aspiring ‘hygge-ist’ for several years. Hygge is a Danish term, which at it’s simplest means, making every day moment more special and is closely translated as ‘coziness’.

The San Francisco Chronicle explained the philosophy here and Melissa from The Inspired Room gives us suggestions on how to hygge in 2017 here.

I think hand-in-hand with creating a little hygge in a home would be reducing whatever stress might be there. Real Simple details 9 No-Regrets Way to Reduce Stress here.

Remember our fine-feathered friends during the cold winter month by taking a few moments to make one of these.

And House Beautiful swears we’ll be ‘over-the-moon-happy’ if we do these.

And if getting in more steps or loosing weight is on your list of 2017 resolutions, how about this app to give you a little $incentive$ to reach your goals?

Well my friends, I am off to finish the declutter of my office/craft room…if you could only see it now! Yowza. But it will be oozing hygge-ness when it’s done!

Wishing you a wonderful, hygge-filled week.
